General Underground, Inc is a SafeLandUSA trained and certified company with over 17 years in the industry.
Directional Drilling
Directional drilling is the practice of drilling non-vertical bores. It can be broken down into four main groups: oilfield directional drilling, utility installation directional drilling, directional boring, and surface in seam, which horizontally intersects a vertical bore target to extract coal bed methane.
Hydrovac
A hydrovac is a piece of equipment that uses high-pressure water to cut and liquefy the soil, while simultaneously using a high-volume vacuum to remove the soil from the excavation. Both fresh water and soil from the excavation are contained in the typically truck-mounted unit.
Underground Pipe
A buried pipeline has better protection than a pipeline in an open trench—burying is generally accomplished by covering the structure with rocks quarried from a nearby shoreline or by covering the pipeline with the soil excavated from the seabed during trenching (backfilling).
Utility Construction
Utility Construction involves all construction aspects for which utilities such as water, power, gas, communications, fiber optics, etc. are logistically run from the utility source to the structure. We specialize in utility construction for residential, commercial, and municipal.
Fiber Optics
Fiber optics is the technology used to transmit information as pulses of light through strands of fiber made of glass or plastic over long distances. A fiber-optic cable contains anywhere from a few to hundreds of optical fibers within a plastic casing.
Overhead Line Construction
An overhead power line is a structure used in electric power transmission and distribution to transmit electrical energy across large distances. It consists of one or more uninsulated electrical cables (commonly multiples of three for three-phase power) suspended by towers or poles.
